1 dead, 2 injured after section of under-construction tunnel part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway collapses in Kota – Times of India

NEW DELHI: One worker lost his life and two others sustained injuries when a section of an under-construction tunnel on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway collapsed in Rajasthan’s Kota district, police reported on Sunday.
Superintendent of Police (Kota Rural), Sujit Shankar, stated that the incident occurred on Saturday night in the Modak area of Ramganj Mandi. He confirmed that the workers trapped beneath the debris were rescued and immediately taken to hospital.
“Shamsher Singh (33) was pronounced dead at the hospital,” Shankar said, adding that the injured workers are currently receiving medical treatment.
Following the incident, police teams and officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) arrived at the site to assess the situation. An investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway.
