1. Bret Hart
Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart Is a former five time WWF champion along with a two time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He was a heartthrob of the fans, all throughout the late 80’s and all of the 90s and one of the best heels too along with it. At the peak of his prowess, he decided to leave WWE to go on and wrestle in WCW on 9th November 1997. His departure from WWE, is infamously called the ‘Montreal Screwjob’. Hart was the WWF champion, when he decided to join the rival company of WWF that is WCW. Vince McMahon, who was the chairman of WWF, did not want Hart to leave as the WWF champion, so he conspired along with Shawn Michaels to take the title away from him in his last match. Although the match was planned to end in this qualification, Mr McMahon ordered Earl Hebner, who was the referee, to end the match as soon as Michaels held Hart in his signature Sharpshooter submission move, making it look like Hart gave up. This incident infuriated Hart and all his fans throughout the world. This was one of the most notorious acts by WWE, and a tragic end to an industrious career in WWE.

2. Goldberg
Goldberg was one of the most feared and iconic superstars in the history of Pro Wrestling. In the Monday Night Wars between WCW and WWF, in the 90’s, Goldberg played a pivotal role for WCW. He was a force to be reckoned with, throughout his career. At one point, he had 173 wins and no losses to his name. He was also a multiple time WCW, WWF and Universal Champion. After coming to WWE in March 2003, at Raw after Mania, he fought brilliant battles with The Rock, Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Right before Wrestlemania 20, both he and Lesnar decided to leave WWE in a shocker of an announcement. Goldberg left WWE after winning his last match against Brock at WrestleMania 2004, when he easily had a decade of peak performance left in him. He did make a brief return to WWE, in 2016 to win the Universal Championship multiple times.

3. Jeff Hardy
A former two time World Champion in WWE, Jeff Hardy departed from the company in 2009, which surprised the whole world. Hardy was unfortunately suspended for a month in 2008 for the violation of WWE Wellness policies, and then left the company in 2009. He then went to TNA, to try his luck and made a big name there too. He did make a return to WWE along with his brother Matt Hardy at WrestleMania 2017, in a huge surprise for the world. Currently, he is active in AEW.

4. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar has been a freak of nature and as he is famously called the ‘Alpha Male of our species’. He debuted in WWE in 2002 and shocked the world with his agility with the size he had. He won multiple Championships in his brief stint, which lasted till WrestleMania 2004. He made the shocker of an announcement to leave WWE, at the peak of his career, to play football. He later also joined UFC to win Championships there. Brock Lesnar also came back to WWE in 2012 and has had a massive impact on the whole Legacy of WWE, since.

5.Edge
Ed edge is a former 11 time World Champion in WWE. In April 2011, Edge announced his retirement from WWE due to Several Spinal Stenosis. He made the shocking announcement while he was still the World Heavyweight Champion and had at least 10 years under his wing. He returned to WWE in the 2020 Royal Rumble, and then also went to the rival promotion AEW, where he is still active.

6. Mercedes Mone(Sasha Banks)
Multiple time Women’s Champion and one of the most famous heels of the women’s division right from the mid 2010’s till the early 2020’s, Mercedes Mone(fka Sasha Banks)decided to leave WWE due to creative differences with the management. In an episode of RAW on May 16 2022, Mercedes Mone walked out of WWE, to shock the world when she was at the peak of her career. She is currently wrestling in AEW.
7. Naomi
Naomi (aka Trinity Fatu) , wife of Jimmy Uso, left WWE in 2022, when she looked like she would have her own legacy like all her Samoan counterparts have had. She, just like Sasha Banks, had creative differences with the company and left to join Impact Wrestling. She has come back to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

8. Dean Ambrose(John Moxley)
A big part of the Shield trio that ruled the WWE since its Inception in 2012, Dean Ambrose is a multiple time Intercontinental, US Champion and also a one time WWE Champion. In 2019, while he was recovering from an injury, he decided to leave WWE, due to creative differences with Vince McMahon amidst a lot of disagreements. He was a definite fan favourite when he left WWE and joined AEW.

9.Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy is a multiple time Tag Team Champion and a former ECW Champion in WWE. He was released by WWE in October 2010 and it was actually the second time that Matt was being released by the company, after the same happened in 2005. He has since wrestled in AEW, TNA and has also made a brief comeback in WWE too in 2017. He is in AEW now.
10. Ric Flair
Ric Flair is one of the finest wrestlers of all time in the world overall. He is a record 16 time World Champion which includes Championship victories in WWE and WCW. After wrestling in WWE for an year and half he left 1993 to join WCW again.
