Roman Reigns made his much awaited comeback at SummerSlam 2024, to a thunderous reception from the crowd present in the stadium at Cleveland. A few months ago, no one would have expected Roman to favour Cody Rhodes in a match ,that too against his younger cousin Solo Sikoa. Now, predictions are being thrown around about Roman becoming a baby face again in WWE.But looking at his demeanour and personality, he might still not be the pre 2020 Roman, that was a pure Babyface.

Here are three reasons why Roman Reigns still in his villain Arc despite saving Kodi roads at SummerSlam
1. He still wants to be considered the Tribal Chief.
Roman Reigns became the ‘Head of the Table’ and the ‘Tribal Chief’ of the Bloodline, while playing the bad guy in WWE. Before that, he was just ‘The Big Dog’ and the most successful superstar from the ‘Shield’ faction. When he returned at SummerSlam last week, he wore a t-shirt with ‘OTC’ written over it, which arguably means ‘Original Tribal Chief’(which he pointed towards, at the end of the match). This indicates his anger on Solo proclaiming to be the new Tribal Chief of the Bloodline in Roman’s absence, he has come back to prove that point. Also, considering himself the Tribal Chief means that he still considers himself above and beyond other members of the Bloodline, a quality which does not qualify as being a baby face normally.

2. Roman doesn’t care about the public perception
Looking at his facial expressions while he was entering the arena, amidst a massive roar from the crowd, Roman looked unperturbed about their reaction. Even if he turns babyface, the person that he has become over the years, he doesn’t care what people think of him or what he needs to prove to them. He is un-bothered about public perception. Moreover, as Cody himself pointed out in the press conference, Roman did not come back to save Cody, he has come back to prove a point to his cousin Solo and his new recruits.

3. The Face turn Is not official yet
We have yet to hear from Roman or any WWE official about him turning baby face after SummerSlam. It may be a far cry yet for his die hard fans to see Roman turn into a Babyface. What Solo has been doing for the past 4 months has baffled the fans, but Roman has been doing similar things for the past 4 years. Just because he aided Cody at SummerSlam, does not warrant the fact that he has had a change of heart. If indeed he does turn face, he would treat other members and his brothers of the Bloodline equally, he would want to recall Jey Uso to this faction and apologize to him. Is he willing to do these things, by keeping his ego aside? We shall know in the times to come.
