6 returning from wedding die as car hits tree in UP – Times of India

PILIBHIT: Six people died and four others were injured after the seven-seater MUV they were travelling in hit a tree on Bhind-Lipulekh NH-731 near Neuria thana in Pilibhit Thursday night. They were returning from a wedding at Chandoi.
Pilibhit SP Avinash Pandey said, “The vehicle was running at a speed of over 100kmph. The driver lost control of the vehicle soon after overtaking another speeding car.”
Impact of the collision was such that a large branch of the tree broke and fell on the car. The mangled vehicle had to be cut open to take the bodies and the injured people out. Six people were declared dead on arrival. On Friday, the bodies were handed over to the relatives after conducting postmortem.
