Chasing a challenging 188 to win, the required run-rate kept climbing for Trinbago, who required 27 runs off the last 12 balls, when Pollard took things in hands.
Facing the penultimate over bowled by pacer Matthew Forde, Pollard brought out his A-game to hit four sixes in five balls to turn the tables on the Kings.
The six balls of the over produced 24 runs (0,6,0,6,6,6), which left Trinbago with just three needed off six balls. It took Pollard to a whirlwind half-cenury as he ended up with 52 not out off just 19 balls and was deservingly named the ‘Player of the Match’.
Akeal Hosain (5 not out) hit the first ball of the last over for a four to reach the target.
The victory was the second of the tournament for Trinbago, who now have four points from three matches and currently stand third in the six-team leadearboard.
