Four teams of NDRF, six teams of SDRF, five teams of the fire dept, and police were carrying out rescue work, which is likely to continue overnight. Rescue workers are using drones to search for the people still trapped.
Most injured were first taken to nearby Lok Bandhu hospital, where three were declared dead upon arrival.Three others were taken to KGMU’s Trauma Centre, where one more died during treatment, and one was taken to a private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. Three more bodies was taken out from debris post 11 pm. Six of the injured are critical while three have been discharged. Remaining 19 are stable.
The deceased were identified as Pankaj Tiwari, Dheeraj Gupta, Arun Sonkar, Raj Kishore and Jasmeet Sahani, who is said to be the son of building’s owner. The map of the building was approved by Lucknow Development Authority. A huge portion of the structure fell on top of a truck.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to expedite rescue and relief efforts, and ensure the best medical treatment to the injured.
