FAQ
What does "Turn Around, Don’t Drown" mean?
It means you should never drive or walk into flooded streets or go around road blocks. Water can hide deep holes or sweep you away.
Why is the river closed?
The Guadalupe River is flowing fast (1,000 cubic feet per second), so the city says no tubing or entering the river until it is safer.
Where can I see the latest road closures?
Visit newbraunfels.gov/roadclosures any time for the most up-to-date list.
What if my trash wasn’t picked up?
If it’s still there at 6 p.m., report it at newbraunfels.gov/garbagerequest.
Is the Gruene Road Bridge flooded?
No, the bridge is closed because of construction problems, not because the river went over it.
