NEW DELHI: Maharashtra caretaker chief minister Eknath Shinde was admitted to a private hospital in Thane after his health showed no signs of improvement.
According to news agency ANI, doctors advised Shinde for a full examination of his health.
Shinde, however, said “badhiya hai (all good),” when asked about his health as he was heading to the hospital.
This comes days after Shinde returned to Mumbai from his native village in Satara recuperate from illness
Meanwhile, BJP is gearing up for the swearing-in ceremony of the Mahayuti government scheduled to be held on December 5.
Earlier, BJP leader Girish Mahajan met Eknath Shinde to discuss preparations for the swearing-in ceremony. Mahajan had said that the caretaker chief minister was recovering well.
“I came here to meet Eknath Shinde, who has not been well for the past few days. There is no displeasure. We sat together for an hour and had a conversation. He also discussed preparations for December 5, and I shared some thoughts as well. We have a lot of work to do for the people of the state, and we are going to work together for them,” Girish Mahajan said.
Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, NCP chief Ajit Pawar, and other Mahayuti leaders met Amit Shah and JP Nadda in Delhi on Thursday evening to discuss the deadlock over the chief ministerial position.
The Maharashtra assembly election results, declared on November 23, saw the Mahayuti alliance achieve a landslide victory. The BJP emerged as the largest party with 132 seats in the 280-member Assembly, while its allies–the Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, and the NCP, led by Ajit Pawar–won 57 and 41 seats, respectively.
