Hey there! Imagine sitting around the breakfast table and someone tells you all the cool stuff happening in movies and TV shows. That’s what Morning Spoilers is. In this article, we’ll look at a bunch of upcoming films and series using super simple words.
Heads up! Some of this is like a sneak peek (a “spoiler”) that tells you bits about stories before they come out. If you don’t want to know, look away!
Deadline says these actors joined the movie They Follow in roles we don’t know yet:
Deadline also says Jessica Alba joined the remake of 13 Going On 30.
In a chat with The Direct, Tom Holland (the actor who plays Spider-Man) said something tricky:
“The brand-new day of this movie, it isn’t the beginning. It’s in the last frame of this movie.”
That means the title Brand New Day only makes full sense at the very end of the film.
Bloody-Disgusting says Sam Esmail’s new movie Panic Carefully (described as “Mr. Robot meets Silence of the Lambs”—meaning a techy thriller mixed with a scary crime story) is delayed by two months.
Bloody-Disgusting also says The Revenge of La Llorona will now come out on:
Adam Wingard’s movie Onslaught got an “R” rating.
An R rating means kids probably shouldn’t watch without a grown-up because of:
The story: a rogue squad (a runaway team) of genetically engineered super soldiers (soldiers changed by science to be super strong) breaks loose in the desert.
Stars: Rebecca Hall, Dan Stevens, Michael Biehn, Reginald VelJohnson, Eric Wareheim, Drew Starkey, and Alex “Poatan” Pereira.
AMC says Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie is short:
In the trailer for Don’t Move, a church group gets picked off (one by one) by a giant spider after they wander into the wrong part of the Ozark wilderness.
Stars: Lyndsy Fonseca, Russell “Russ” Vitale, Tom Cavanagh, Hunter King, Rob Riggle, Joseph Lee Anderson, T-Pain, Matt Biedel, James Murray, and Brian Quinn.
Emile Hirsch is haunted by a “horrifying apparition” (a scary ghost-like thing) of the title character in the trailer for Woozy.
In the trailer for Turning Point, two burglars (people who break into homes) accidentally enter the house of a self-quarantined zombie (a monster staying alone so it won’t spread).
Stars: DJ Qualls, Jillian Lee Garner, Mike Apple, Shane Brady, Lydia Hearst, and Sanchita Malik.
According to Home of DCU (via Yahoo!), the writers have officially started on season 2 of Lanterns before HBO officially says “yes” to more episodes.
A new Instagram post from CBS TV Studios shows all 10 episode titles for season 4:
Finally, in a clip from “Party Animals” (this Saturday’s new episode), Superman loses his powers right when terrorists crash a charity event (a kind party to raise money).
Today’s Morning Spoilers told us about new cast members for They Follow and 13 Going On 30, a mysterious Spider-Man title clue, delayed movies like Panic Carefully and La Llorona, a rated-R Onslaught, a short Resident Evil, spider scares in Don’t Move, ghostly Woozy, zombie burglars in Turning Point, early Lanterns writing, Star Trek episode names, and a Superman clip. Lots of fun stuff coming!
Q: What does “remake” mean?
A: It’s a new version of an old movie or show, like rebuilding the same toy but with new paint.
Q: Why is Onslaught rated R?
A: Because it has bloody fighting, gross bits, nakedness, and swearing—stuff for adults.
Q: What is a spoiler?
A: A spoiler tells you story secrets before you see the movie or show, like telling the ending of a book.
Q: Is Lanterns season 2 confirmed?
A: Not fully—writers are working, but HBO hasn’t officially renewed it yet.
