'Modi ji, sansad mein aao': Rahul Gandhi demands PM Modi to attend Parliament amid Adani row

NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to participate in the Winter Session of Parliament and not shy away from an investigation into allegations against the Adani Group.
Gandhi in a Facebook post wrote, “Modi ji sansad me aao, Adani par jaanch se mat ghabrao (Modi ji come to Parliament, don’t be afraid of investigation related to Adani).”

The Congress, alongside its INDIA bloc allies, has been vocal about its demand for a discussion on Adani’s alleged indictment by US authorities since the Winter Session began.
Earlier in the day, Opposition MPs staged a symbolic protest by wearing masks that read, “Modi Adani, Bhai Bhai.” Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were also seen holding copies of the Constitution as part of the demonstration.
Congress MP KC Venugopal criticised the government, stating, “It is B. R. Ambedkar‘s death anniversary, the person who gave the Constitution of India. The constitutional right has been violated here for Adani. Whenever the name of Adani comes, the government of India wants to divert the issue. Let them divert the issue, we will continue our protests.”
The Adani Group, however, dismissed the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In a statement, the group said, “The US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against directors of Adani Green are baseless and denied.”
The statement added, “As stated by the US Department of Justice itself, ‘the charges in the indictment are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.’ All possible legal recourse will be sought.”
The Adani Group reiterated its commitment to upholding “the highest standards of governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance.”
The Winter Session of Parliament, which began on November 25, has seen frequent disruptions and early adjournments. It is scheduled to continue until December 20.
