Business tycoon Anand Mahindra joined the nation in celebrating Indian chess prodigy D Gukesh’s historic victory over World Chess Champion Ding Liren. Gukesh, at just 18 years old, achieved this remarkable feat in the 14th game of the World Chess Championship in Singapore on December 12.
Mahindra took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his elation, sharing a video of Gukesh dancing to the iconic Rajinikanth song “Manasilayo.”
“All of India is dancing with you at this very moment @DGukesh,” Mahindra wrote in his post, capturing the collective joy and pride felt across the country.

After his win, Gukesh said he will lift the trophy after the closing ceremony.
“Seeing it up close for the first time… I don’t want to touch it, I want to lift it at the closing ceremony!” Gukesh could be heard saying in a small clip posted by the International Chess Federation (FIDE). after his win.
“I’ve been dreaming about this and living this moment since I was 6 or 7. Every chess player wants to live this moment. I am living my dream,” Gukesh said.
