Trump blames 'whoever is President' on looming shutdown crisis as White House sees action
Donald Trump says Biden is still the president and he has to lead the country out of the possibility of a shutdown.

As Plan B went down the drain with Congress rejecting the spending bill championed by President-elect Donald Trump, it is not yet known whether the House will vote on another spending bill today as the deadline ends at midnight today. Senators are now waiting for Speaker Mike Johnson’s Plan C as Trump said the pressure is on whoever in President. Plan A was the bipartisan bill that the Democrats and Republicans agreed on which the DOGE chiefs — Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy disapproved of, Plan B was a new bill that Trump, JD Vance, DOGE chiefs and Speaker Mike Jonhson came up with.
“Congress must get rid of, or extend out to, perhaps 2029, the ridiculous Debt Ceiling. Without this, we should never make a deal. Remember, the pressure on on whoever in President,” Trump posted.
Trump favored a government shutdown over going into a deal with the Democrats. “Our Country is far better off closing up for a period of time than it is agreeing to the things that the Democrats want to force upon us. Biden is President, and it’s his obligation to properly lead. We’re there to do the right thing, and we can’t agree with what Biden and the Democrats are demanding,” Trump said.

Biden, Kamala Harris stay put in Washington DC

Both Biden and Kamala Harris Thursday suddenly changed their Christmas plans and decided to stay put in Washington DC. Biden canceled his Christmas trip to Delaware and flew back to the White House. Harris was scheduled to fly to Los Angeles but it was informed that she would remain in DC. There was no official confirmation whether the change of plan was tied to the looming shutdown threat because of the logjam over the funding bill.
