Boyfriend Arrested After Allegedly Throwing Girlfriend from Hotel in Uttar Pradesh | – Times of India

VARANASI: Chetganj police arrested Furkan, the boyfriend of 22-year-old Priyanka Kumari, on Friday night after she was allegedly thrown from the third floor of a hotel in the Ramkatora area on Thursday evening.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Priyanka’s father, Ram Prasad, against Furkan of Dhanbad. An FIR was filed under section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 109 (attempt to murder) of the BNS on Friday evening.
ACP Chetganj Gaurav Kumar confirmed that after detailed questioning, Furkan was arrested and produced before the court on Saturday, where he was sent to jail.
The victim, Priyanka, remains admitted at the trauma center of BHU.
Priyanka’s father reported that his daughter, who had come to Varanasi for her degree’s convocation, was pushed from the hotel’s third floor following a quarrel with Furkan.
Prasad alleged that Furkan had kept Priyanka in the hotel for five days against her will, preventing her from going home.
Priyanka’s family hails from Baberu village in Banda and had settled in Dhanbad. Priyanka, a recent graduate from Basant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, an affiliate of BHU, arrived in Varanasi on December 13 with her father for the convocation. Upon learning of her visit, Furkan also boarded the same train as them to reach Varanasi.
Priyanka informed her father that she would stay with a friend after arriving in Varanasi. However, instead of visiting her friend’s place, she went to the SV Grand Hotel with Furkan and stayed in room 309 on the third floor. Despite her desire to return home on December 14, Furkan repeatedly delayed her departure, citing reasons such as unavailable train berths.
On Thursday, when Priyanka insisted on returning, a quarrel broke out between the two, leading to Furkan allegedly assaulting her and pushing her from the hotel’s third floor.
Prasad claimed that Priyanka sustained serious head injuries from the fall and is currently fighting for her life.
