US vice president-elect JD Vance celebrated Christmas Day with his three-year-old daughter as the duo prepared biscuits for the festival. Vance referred to his daughter as the “best three-year-old sous chef in the world.”
Vance wished “Merry Christmas” to social media users on Wednesday. He shared a video of himself and his daughter preparing “Vance family biscuits” for the holiday.
“Baking some Vance family biscuits with the world’s best three-year-old sous chef. Merry Christmas everyone!” Vance wrote on X.
‘She is always my sous chef’
In the video, Vance demonstrates the biscuit-making process with his daughter, Mirable, by his side. He described biscuit making as a “lost art” and encouraged families to have good biscuits on their Christmas dinner table.
“Today we are going to learn to make biscuits because I feel like biscuit making is a lost art, and I think that every American family should have a good biscuit on their table during Christmas dinner,” says Vance in the video.
“Mirabel here is going to help me. She is always my sous chef,” he adds.
Once the biscuits are prepared, Trump’s two sons appear in the video, hugging their father.
At the end of the video, Vance asks his children, “Can we all say Merry Christmas?” The children and Vance then say “Merry Christmas” together, concluding the video.
Social media reacts
Vance’s Christmas video featuring his daughter has prompted varied responses on social media. One X user praised the child, calling her a “great little assistant.”

Another user commented on the father-daughter bonding, saying, “@JDVance, that sounds like a fun time in the kitchen! Kids make everything more lively, don’t they? What’s the secret ingredient for those biscuits?”
One user described the duo as “super cute.”
“Awww, you two are super cute. And she’s gonna be a handful in a few years. I miss my kids being that little. Great job, Dad, and the biscuits look great! Merry Christmas!”
Calling Vance “the best biscuit maker of all time,” another user wrote, “I love the butter trick. Merry Christmas to you and your family.”
