Indiana delegate Tracy Boyd said her group was notified by the hotel that the breakfast service would be delated due to some pro-Palestine activists who have been protesting on the streets of Chicago — since the beginning of the convention.
“Multiple unknown female offenders are alleged to have entered a building…and began placing unknown objects onto tables containing food,” the convention’s information center said in a statement cited by Chicago media. “The offenders are believed to have then left the area. One victim was treated and released on-scene. Along with CPD, FBI-Chicago is assisting in the investigation. No further information is available at this time.”
This is not the first time that the pro-Palestine protesters launched a maggot attack on to a high-profile event. In a protest against Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s US visit, protesters resorted to the same. Secret Service was investigating the reports and how the protesters got access to the hotel where the Israeli delegation was staying.
