PGA TOUR Expert Picks: Wyndham Championship Fantasy & Betting Guide

Published 2 days ago • 2 min read

What’s This All About?

Imagine you’re picking a team for a video game, but instead of made-up characters, you’re choosing real pro golfers. Each week, experts from PGATOUR.COM share their best picks for two games:

  1. Fantasy Golf – Build a roster, earn points based on how your players perform
  2. Betting – Predict specific outcomes (like "Player X finishes in Top 10")

BIG NEWS FOR 2026: The PGA TOUR Fantasy Game got a major upgrade! Now you can swap players during the tournament (after each round). Plus, there’s a Captain spot that earns double points.

How the Fantasy Game Works (ELI5 Version)

Think of it like a salary cap league but with a twist:

Rule What It Means
4 Starters + 1 Captain Pick 4 golfers to start. One is your "Captain" – their points count 2x!
2 Bench Players Two backups. After each round (Thursday, Friday, Saturday), you can swap a starter for a bench player.
Usage Limits Each golfer can only be used 3 times per season segment (there are 3 segments per year). Choose wisely!

This Week’s Expert Picks

Will Gray (Senior Manager, TOUR & Golfbet Editorial)

Pick Bet Type Odds Why He Likes It
Blades Brown Top 20 Finish +265 Mostly plays on Korn Ferry Tour, but missed a playoff by 1 shot last week. Has game to compete at Sedgefield.
Nico Echavarria Top South American +188 It’s basically him vs. Emiliano Grillo. Nico has finished T22 or better the last 2 years here.

Chris Breece (Senior Content Manager, Golfbet)

Pick Bet Type Odds Why He Likes It
Ryan Gerard over Jackson Koivun 72-Hole Matchup +110 (FanDuel) Gerard’s on a top-10 streak. Koivun’s good (on Chris’s fantasy bench), but Gerard’s the better value as an underdog.
Tom Kim Top 10 with Ties +330 (FanDuel) Loves this course + playing great lately. "Great number" for a bet that pays if he ties for 10th.

PRO TIP: Rob Bolton (Golfbet’s Fantasy Insider) breaks down the entire field in this week’s Power Rankings. Read it for deeper intel!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does "+265" or "+110" mean?

Those are American odds.

  • +265: Bet $100 to win $265 profit (total $365 back).
  • +110: Bet $100 to win $110 profit.
Positive numbers = underdog. Negative numbers (e.g., -150) = favorite (bet $150 to win $100).

2. What is a "72-Hole Matchup"?

You’re betting on who finishes with the lower total score after all 4 rounds (Thursday–Sunday). It doesn’t matter where they place in the tournament—just Player A vs. Player B.

3. What does "Top 10 w/ties" mean?

Your bet wins if the player finishes 10th place OR BETTER. If 5 guys tie for 8th, they all count as Top 10. (Without "w/ties," ties might reduce your payout.)

4. Can I change my fantasy roster after the tournament starts?

YES! That’s the big 2026 change. After each round (Thursday, Friday, Saturday), you can swap a starter for one of your 2 bench players. Use this if your starter plays poorly or gets injured!

5. What are "season segments"?

The PGA TOUR season is split into 3 segments. You can only use each golfer 3 times per segment. Once you hit 3, you can’t pick them again until the next segment starts. Plan your stars for the biggest weeks!

Happy picking, and may your Captain go low!
