Rishabh Pant's stump mic chatter about Mominul Haque's height leaves Sunil Gavaskar in splits

NEW DELHI: India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant is known not only for his explosive batting but also for entertaining fans with his lively chatter behind the stumps, often caught by the stump mics.
A hilarious incident unfolded on the first day of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur on Friday, when Pant playfully teased Mominul Haque about his short height, adding a touch of light-hearted banter to the game.
Mominul tried to sweep the first delivery of the 33rd over but failed to connect, prompting Pant to make a confident appeal for leg before wicket. Ravichandran Ashwin, the off-spinner, indicated that the ball had touched the bat prior to striking the pad.
The replays validated Ashwin’s assessment, confirming that he was right. However, Pant quickly remarked from behind the stumps, asserting, an appeal for LBW can be made even if the ball hits the helmet of Mominul Haque.
“Isse helmet se bhi LBW lelenge,” Pant was heard repeatedly saying.
Pant made a subtle remark about Mominul’s height during the match. The Bangladeshi cricketer stands at a height of five-feet-three-inches.
Sunil Gavaskar, who was commentating at the time, caught wind of Pant’s witty observation. He proceeded to interpret Pant’s statement for the benefit of the English-speaking viewers.
Pant’s stump mic antics once again went viral on social media, adding to his growing collection of memorable moments.

The first day’s play was cut short due to bad light, followed by heavy rain, as Bangladesh reached 107-3 before the match was called off early.
