‘Hope He Goes to Australia’: Ex-cricketer Goes Gaga Over Speedgun Mayank Yadav After ‘Dream Debut’

Mayank Yadav has become an utter sensation after he made his Team India debut in the T20I format. After causing a storm in the IPL , the speedster has finally found his moment to feature for the national side. He made a lasting impression in the 1st T20I match against Bangladesh in Gwalior, and a former cricketer wants him to feature in red ball cricket when the Men in Blue face off against one of the most fiercest rivals.

While speaking in one of his videos on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali heaped laurels on Mayank Yadav, who made his debut against Bangladesh in T20Is at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. The veteran said that the upstart pacer had a dream debut after starting his international career with a maiden and also scalped a wicket in the second over. He also clocked 149.9, which is a rather rare sight to witness. Basit Ali further wants him to be fit and is hopeful to see him in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series.

“It was a dream debut for Mayank Yadav. He started off with a maiden and even clocked 149.9 kmph. He has come from an injury, which is why his speeds have not been 157 or 158.

“Just imagine if he had been given the new ball instead of Hardik Pandya . He instilled fear. If you guys saw the match, batters did not play him on the front foot. I hope that he remains fit and goes to Australia,” Basit Ali said.

Mayank Yadav began his international career by bowling a maiden over. After coming in to bowl against Bangladesh in the fifth over, he bowed an entire over to Towhid Hridoy, who did not score a run. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the pacer dismissed BAN veteran Mahmudullah with the second ball of his second over. Mayank did not reach 150 until now, but he came close with 149.9 in the third ball of the seventh over.

Team India is off to a flying start, winning the first T20I against Bangladesh at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh . The Men in Blue have dominated the Bangla Tigers, securing the target with ease. The batters and bowlers demonstrated endurance and tenacity, and the Gwalior crowd thoroughly enjoyed India’s performance.
