LUCKNOW: Roli Mishra, the wife of Ram Gopal Mishra who was murdered in communal clashes in Bahraich, posted a video on social media accusing the local police of “injustice and corruption”.
In the 45-second video, Roli can purportedly be heard saying that “the administration has failed to provide the family with the justice it deserves”. She continues by saying that although the perpetrators were apprehended, they have not faced adequate punishment.
“We were shown that the accused were shot in the leg, but true justice has not been served. The police acted unfairly towards us and seem to have accepted bribes. The administration is not supporting us, and we are not getting what we rightfully deserve. We are still waiting for justice to be delivered,” she said.
Meanwhile, another video has surfaced on social media in which Rukhsar, alias Salia, daughter of accused Abdul Hameed, appealed to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister for protection. She claimed that on Tuesday, the STF and police raided her house in Kewanaganj, taking her husband Osama and brother-in-law Shahid into custody. Since then, their whereabouts have not been known.
She expressed fear that her family members may be subjected to an encounter and has urged the authorities for their safety.
