AHMEDABAD: A 25-year-old man working with a private firm suffered multiple fractures and head injuries when his girlfriend’s father allegedly rammed his car into him before attacking him with a rod in Vastrapur on Thursday.
On Friday, Vastrapur police booked the alleged assailant following a complaint lodged by the injured, who was admitted to a private hospital in the area.
In the complaint, the man stated that his girlfriend’s father was bitterly opposed to their relationship due to caste differences. The man and his lover are neighbours .
On Thursday evening, when the man went to meet his two friends near his house, he saw the girlfriend’s father speeding towards him in a car. Before he could anticipate anything, the accused rammed the car into him, causing injuries to his right ankle. The accused then ran over his foot.
Thereafter, he allegedly attacked him with a metal rod and left. The man suffered several fractures in the right leg and received eight stitches for a forehead wound.
