NEW DELHI: Actor Allu Arjun‘s father on Wednesday announced that Rs 2 crore will be given to the child who was injured in the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident during the premier show of ‘Pushpa 2‘.
This announcement came after the actor’s father Allu Aravind met the injured child currently being treated in the hospital. He said that they interacted with the doctors and inquired about his health. Aravind added that the boy is recovering.
Speaking to the reporters, the actor’s father said, “We are very happy to know that the boy is recovering.”
He added that to support the child and his family, they have decided to give an amount of Rs 2 crore.
“To support him and his family, we have decided to give an amount of Rs 2 crore- Rs one crore has been given by Allu Arjun and Rs 50 lakhs given by the producers and 50 lakhs by the director. This amount is being handed over to Dil Raju, Chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation,” he said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the actor was grilled by Hyderabad police for over 4 hours in the stampede case. He was questioned about the sequence of events and his private security. According to a report from the news agency PTI, the police alleged the actor’s bouncers of pushing the fans leading to the stampede.
Arjun’s advocate Ashok Reddy said that the actor “cooperated with the police fully. If required, they said they’d call him again. They (the police) wanted to question him and he cooperated. They treated him very well.”
Sources said that interrogation of the actor was centred around his entry into the theatre, exit and the role of bouncers in crowd control.
