Amazon Alexa wants Americans to vote for Kamala Harris? So claim some Alexa voice recordings going viral on social media. Amazon has officially confirmed this and blamed it on a software bug. Several videos on X, formerly Twitter, that have gone viral this week show Alexa users recording their device as it tells them they should support Kamala Harris over Donald Trump this November.
Amazon has released a software fix that blamed the so-called ‘presidential preference’ on an “error”. “This was an error that was quickly fixed,” said Amazon in a statement to some media outlets. Incidentally, the error is said to be across Amazon Alexa devices, including different models of the company’s smart speakers.

So what exactly Amazon Alexa said for Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

As per the videos when a person asked Alexa on why someone should vote for Donald Trump, it replied: “I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate.”
When they asked the same question about Kamala Harris, Alexa said: “While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a strong candidate with a proven track record of accomplishment. As the first female vice president, Harris has already broken down a major gender barrier, and her career in politics has been characterized by a commitment to progressive ideals and a focus on helping disenfranchised communities.”

As noted above, Amazon has already addressed what the company called an inadvertent “bug”.
