Draymond Green has recently reacted to the tragic passing of Andrew Wiggins’ father. His Golden State Warriors teammate recently shared that the sudden demise of his father still cast a shadow of sorrow on Wiggins but he has all the support system from the team. “It’s good to see him locked in and focused and enjoying what he loves to do,” Green said.

Green showered heavy praise on his teammate. Certainly, Wiggins’ numbers for the 2024-25 season have been quite impressive compared to his 2022 All-Star form. With season averages of 17.5 points, 2.3 assists, and 4.4 rebounds, he is seemingly on a path to create his name imprinted in the record book. And there’s more to it than just the stats. “I think his season has been great. You know, obviously, he went through an event that none of us ever want to go through in life, but unfortunately, that most of us do go through at some point or another,” Green said in the post-game press talk reflecting on Wiggins’ personal tragedy.
Green went on to add, “None of us know the toll that took on him over the last couple of years. We live in this basketball world where you think that’s just it, but the stuff that happens in life—you carry it.”
Green further shared how Wiggins’ recent experiences have fueled his determination on the court. Green noted that Wiggins now has something deeper driving him, which is evident in his focused and committed performance this season. “With what he’s gone through, it has given him something more to play for. And he’s showing that he’s locked in,” he added.
