The production team of the hit television show Anupamaa has announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh for the family of focus puller Anil Mandal, who tragically passed away on set due to electrocution. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President, B.N. Tiwari, confirmed this development, stating, “We have received a communication from Rajan Shahi’s office that a compensation of ₹10 lakh will be given to the father of Anil Mandal as he was unmarried.”
The incident occurred on recently when Mandal, while working on set, reportedly touched live wires that led to his electrocution. The tragedy has left the cast and crew of the show in deep shock, mourning the loss of a valued team member.
FWICE’s B.N. Tiwari shared more insights into the incident, explaining that Mandal was relatively new to the job, which is why not many on set were acquainted with him. “He was working on set and apparently died due to a short circuit. We will ensure his family is compensated,” Tiwari added.
The show’s producer, Rajan Shahi, has yet to release an official statement about the tragedy. However, the announcement of the compensation highlights the production team’s efforts to provide financial support to Mandal’s grieving family.
