“We are speaking to them.Any agreement only happens if there is a win-win situation. We are working on a solution that both of us will benefit from. We are working on it and it will be finalised in a day or two, otherwise, we will leave it,” AICC in-charge of Haryana Babaria said.
This comes a day after the Aam Aadmi Party leaders had said that any decision regarding the alliance would be taken only after Arvind Kejriwal’s consultation.
Responding to a question regarding seat sharing between the parties, Babaria said, “I don’t want to go in the number game… But it will be a very small number. Single digit… Whatever we need to do to defeat the BJP, we will do.”
Babaria also said that CPM and the Samajwadi Party had approached the Congress party for an alliance in the state assembly elections as they want to “make their presence felt” in Haryana.
“CPIM and the Samajwadi Party approached us. They are expecting a very small number… They want to make their presence felt in the state… We are also looking for a seat which is convenient for us and them,” he said.
Elections on 90 seats in Haryana will be held on October 5. Counting of votes will be done on October 8.
