Apple announced its much-awaited iPhone 16 at ‘It’s Glowtime’ event yesterday. The new iPhone 16 comes powered by A18 Bionic chipset and features a new camera design. The smartphone is equipped with Apple Intelligence features that are rolling out in October. Here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone 16

Apple iPhone 16 price in India

The base model of iPhone 16 offers 128GB storage.It carries a price tag of Rs 79,900. Other storage models include 256GB and 512GB priced at Rs 89,900 and Rs 1,09,900, respectively.

Apple iPhone 16 availability in India

Apple iPhone 16 will be available in five colour options – Black, White, Pink, Teal, and Ultramarine. Pre-orders begin this Friday, September 13, with availability beginning next Friday, i.e. September 20.

Apple iPhone 16 processor

The iPhone 16 comes powered by A18 Bionic chip that is built on second-generation 3-nanometer technology to further accelerate Apple Intelligence. It also boasts of an upgraded 16-core Neural Engine that is optimized for large generative models and is said to run ML models up to 2x faster than the A16 Bionic chip. It’s 6-core CPU is 30 percent faster than the A16 Bionic chip.

Apple Intelligence on iPhone 16

Apple iPhone 16 runs on iOS18 coming with Apple Intelligence. It will be available as a free software update, with the first set of features rolling out next month in U.S. English for most regions around the world.
Apple Intelligence comes with systemwide writing tools built into iOS 18, users can rewrite, proofread, and summarize text nearly everywhere they write, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps. In the Notes and Phone apps, users can also record, transcribe, and summarize audio. When a recording is initiated while on a call in the Phone app, participants are automatically notified, and once the call ends, Apple Intelligence generates a summary to recall key points.

On of the notable features of iPhone 16 is the Camera Control, which helps users quickly access visual intelligence to learn about objects or places around them faster. Camera Control can quickly launch the camera, take a photo, and start video recording. Later this year, Camera Control will unlock visual intelligence to help users learn about objects and places faster than ever before.
There is a 48MP Fusion camera on the phone with a 2x Telephoto option paired with a 12MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, the phone comes with a 12MP Truedepth camera with ƒ/1.9 aperture. iPhone 16 can now take spatial photos and videos. It also introduces creative new ways to edit video sound with Audio Mix — allowing users to adjust their sound after capture to focus on the voice of the person on camera, make it sound like the video was recorded inside a professional studio, or position vocal tracks in the front and environmental noises in surround sound. With wind noise reduction, powerful machine learning (ML) algorithms reduce unwanted noise for better audio quality.
