Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis introduce new and strict traditions for kids; skip Christmas gifts and trust funds
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, the Hollywood power couple, have instituted a no-gift Christmas tradition for their two children. Aiming to prevent entitlement, they believe their kids don’t need presents. The couple, who grew up poor, also plan to forgo trust funds, preferring to instill the value of hard work and donate their wealth to charity.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, a famous Hollywood couple worth $275 million, have opened up about a new Christmas tradition they’ve started with their children.
Ashton and Mila, who are possibly planning a vow renewal and a move to Europe due to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing scandal, are parents to 10-year-old Wyatt Isabelle and 8-year-old Dimitri Portwood. Despite their wealth, they believe their children don’t need extravagant or any gifts at all.
Mila shared with Entertainment Tonight in 2017 that she wanted to approach holidays in a way that would prevent her children from feeling entitled. She explained, “So far our tradition is no presents for the kids. We’re instituting it this year because when the kids are under one, it doesn’t really matter.”
Kunis recalled how their daughter Wyatt, at two years old, became overwhelmed by receiving too many gifts. As a result, they decided not to give her anything, despite the generous gifts from doting grandparents, according to Express US.
The actress explained the issue, saying that kids no longer appreciate a single gift and start expecting more without understanding its value. She has also spoken openly about teaching their children the value of money. On the Kyle and Jackie O Show, she emphasized that, despite their wealth, she wants them to understand that “Mommy and Daddy may have a dollar, but you’re poor.” Reflecting on their own humble beginnings, she added that both she and Ashton grew up in poverty and are self-made, fully aware of the worth of money.
Staying true to their values, Kunis and Kutcher have decided not to set up trust funds for their children.
Ashton shared their unique parenting philosophy on Dax Shepard’s podcast, revealing that their children are unaware of their privileged lifestyle and he plans to keep it that way. He emphasized that they won’t be setting up a trust fund, instead choosing to donate their wealth to charity. Kutcher added that if his kids have a strong business idea, that’s when they might receive financial support from him.
