KAITHAL: The connections to the Baba Siddique murder case in Mumbai are said to be linked to Haryana’s Kaithal.
According to information, the accused, Gurmel, hails from the village of Narar in Kaithal district, which comes under Titram Police Station.
He was imprisoned in Kaithal jail for a murder case in 2019, and after being released on bail, he moved to Mumbai, where he developed connections with the associates of Lawrence Bishnoi.It is also reported that he made contact with Lawrence Bishnoi‘s associates while in Kaithal jail.
According to sources, the accused’s parents have passed away, and he has not lived in his village for a long time. The accused, along with his associates, conducted surveillance on Baba Siddique’s house and office. They were in Mumbai for about one and a half to two months, keeping a watch on him. Multiple teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch are investigating the matter.
Gurmel left home without informing anyone
Gurmel’s family background reveals a tragic past. His parents have died, and he is survived by his grandmother, Phooli Devi, who resides with his younger stepbrother. Shockingly, Gurmel has a history of violence, brutally murdering his own elder brother in 2019 using a sharp object.
The accused’s grandmother revealed that around four months ago, Gurmel left home without informing anyone when she went to dispose of trash in the village. She stated, “Gurmel has caused me immense pain; I don’t care if the police shoot him.” Referring to his previous imprisonment for murdering his brother, she questioned, “I don’t know who got him out of jail.” She concluded, “We have no relationship with Gurmel anymore,” she added.
The SHO of Titram police station revealed that three cases are registered against the accused, Gurmel, including a murder case. These cases are filed at Titram Police Station, Civil Lines Thana, and City police station. The police are investigating Gurmel’s record to uncover his criminal history.
