IND vs SL: The BCCI has announced Team India’s squad that will take on Sri Lanka in a limited-overs series. The Indian team will play three T20Is and as many ODIs against the island nation starting July 27. This tour also marks the start of Gautam Gambhir‘s stint as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team. Suryakumar Yadav was announced as the new T20I captain while Rohit Sharma returned for the ODI series.
Hardik Pandya was snubbed as he India’s vice-captain in T20 World Cup did not even get the vice-captaincy in both T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Earlier this month, former India player and KKR and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir succeeded Rahul Dravid as the new Head Coach of Team India. This series will be his first test in the Indian blue colours with a revamped team under his watch.
