Bengaluru man’s post on 13-minute laptop delivery goes viral: What Flipkart did next – Times of India

A Bengaluru man recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) stating how he received a laptop just 13 minutes after ordering through Flipkart Minutes. The post has now gone viral on the internet with over 2 million views so far.
The viral post has now taken an interesting turn with the e-commerce company surprising him with a gift. In the X post, Sunny R Gupta @sunnykgupta said that he has received a laptop bag from Flipkart. He also shared a video of both – the laptop and the bag.

Flipkart replies to the user’s post

“They came, they clicked a picture with me, they left 🤷‍♂️But they gave this cool bag, not a cheap random one, instead a Wildcraft one!,” he wrote.

Replying to Gupta’s post, the official handle of Flipkart Minutes wrote “Yes, I’m always demure and mindful ( with quick deliveries ) 😌”.

However, Gupta’s post did not go well with other X users who criticized his post calling it a ‘marketing stunt’.
Gupta in another post clarified that it was not a planned promotion. He said “I wanted to take a moment to address the recent buzz around my posts about receiving a laptop delivery within 13 minutes from Flipkart. I want to clarify that this was not a marketing stunt or a planned promotion.”
“During one of our gatherings at Starbucks, I was browsing for a new Windows laptop on Amazon and Flipkart. I stumbled upon a model on Flipkart that fit my budget and requirements, and I noticed a new feature offering delivery within 15 minutes. Intrigued by this option, I decided to try it out, thinking it would be more convenient than waiting a day for a traditional delivery,” he stated.
Adding further, he wrote “After placing the order, I shared the experience live on X simply because I found it fascinating and unexpected. To my surprise, the laptop arrived in just 13 minutes, and I posted about it in real-time. The posts went viral overnight, garnering millions of views and attracting attention from various media outlets.”
“I want to emphasize that I had no incentive to create a viral moment or engaging in any marketing ploy. The posts were purely my personal experience, shared out of genuine surprise and excitement. I have a fulfilling career in software development, and I do not rely on or need to engage in marketing gimmicks for additional income. I enjoyed the attention this brought me.”
He said that once the post became popular, Flipkart’s marketing team offered him a laptop bag for all the buzz this ended up creating.
