BENGALURU: A 24-year-old woman Sunday was found dead in the bathroom with strange marks on her face. She was married to Venkataramana, a businessman from Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh.
The couple went to visit a relative, Suhasini, in Nelamangala, on the city outskirts. After reaching the house, Lakshmi went to take a bath, informing the family that she would be out in a while.
When she didn’t come out of the bathroom, her family grew concerned as there was no sound of water running nor any noise from the geyser inside. Worried, Venkataramana knocked on the bathroom door, but there was no response. When he broke it open, he found Lakshmi lying unconscious on the floor with marks on her face. Her body was cold and there was no sign of life, he told police.
The family rushed her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors confirmed that Lakshmi was already dead.
Nelamangala police were unable to determine the cause of death, particularly the strange marks on Lakshmi’s face. The forensic team was called to investigate and a thorough search of the house was done. Her body was sent to Nelamangala mortuary for postmortem, but no clear cause of death has been ascertained as yet.
Venkataramana said: “I am in deep shock. We all were chatting in the living room around 9.30am when my wife went to take bath. At 9.50am, I went to check on her. The door was latched inside, so we opened it forcefully and found her inside. Everything is a mystery. We will cooperate with police for investigation; even we want to know the cause of death.”
