DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Saturday criticised chief adviser Muhammad Yunus for his suggestion to lower the minimum voting age to 17, saying it could further delay the election process, and reminded the interim govt led by him that an unelected administration should not remain in office for a long period, reports . The interim govt’s primary responsibility is to arrange credible elections and transfer power to elected representatives swiftly, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said during an event here. “We have no objection to reforms. But, the biggest problem now is the chaos and instability in Bangladesh. These issues can be significantly alleviated if there is an elected govt,” he said.
