Caught on cam: Bouncers told to kneel, shots fired at Delhi club

NEW DELHI: CCTV footage has emerged showing armed assailants brazenly firing a barrage of gunshots at a club in east Delhi’s Seemapuri. The video captures the harrowing moment when the gunmen, brandishing weapons, threatened the bouncers, including a female staff member, forcing them to kneel before discharging their firearms indiscriminately outside the establishment.

Policesaid disclosed on Sunday that they had arrested one of the suspects, identified as Shahrukh (30), and efforts were underway to catch others. Police are investigating all potential angles, including the possibility of an extortion attempt as the motive behind the incident, they stated.
The footage shows one of the assailants ordering the staff members outside the club, named ‘Kaanch,’ to drop to their knees. When the employees object, the armed individual is overheard issuing an ultimatum before opening fire.
The staff members eventually complied, with the woman being the first to kneel. In a tense sequence, two of the assailants then fired their weapons into the air, causing patrons to seek shelter in panic. Bullets also struck the building’s walls, with approximately a dozen shots being fired. No one was injured in the gunfire.According to police, they receive d a distress call regarding the shooting at Kanch Club in the Jhilmil Industrial Area around 1 am on Sept 6. Sub inspector Pravesh Tyagi and his colleagues were assigned to investigate the incident.Umar, a 25-year-old bouncer at the club, recounted that four individuals arrived at the establishment at 11.45 pm on Sept 5, and two of them aimed their pistols directly at him, firing with the intent to kill. The accused then fled towards Vivek Vihar.
A case was registered under the section of attempted murder in BNS, in addition to Arms Act.
