However, NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh dismissed the CBI’s allegations as “baseless,” attributing the “conspiracy” against him to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s alleged panic.
Deshmukh is already under investigation by the CBI for corruption charges and is also facing a case filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Deshmukh said, “Another baseless case has been filed against me by the CBI. This conspiracy has arisen because Fadnavis is panicking after witnessing the people’s mandate. I am not intimidated by such threats and pressure.”
He also pointed out his commitment to opposing what he describes as the BJP’s “repressive rule,” urging people to reflect on Fadnavis’s alleged “perverse and low-level” politics.
Deshmukh said that voters had already held the BJP accountable in the Lok Sabha elections and expressed similar anticipation for BJP’s performance in the upcoming assembly polls.
