The salary cap for an uncapped player is INR 4 crores, which means that MS Dhoni will have to take a pay cut of more than 60% if he continues to play in the iconic Chennai yellow. Every IPL franchise will have a purse of INR 120 crores. But the BCCI has played around a bit with the retention rules. Every franchise will be eligible for six retentions, which includes the Right To Match Card too. Five retentions will cost each franchise INR 75 crores and will leave them with just INR 45 crores for the mega auctions.
