Chhattisgarh Auto-rickshaw driver’s mountaineer daughter to get CM’s assistance to climb African peak

Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai and Young Mountaineer Nisha Yadav

RAIPUR: An auto rickshaw driver’s daughter who wants to climb African mountain Kilimanjaro and hoist the Indian national flag on the top of it, got a surprise call from Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai for an assurance that she has full support from state and government. Struggling with financial limitations, the young mountaineer Nisha Yadav had no money to goto Africa, yet her commitment had been unshakable.
A resident of Bilaspur district, Nisha got a call on Friday and she was surprised that it was Vishnu Deo Sai on the other side. Sai inquired about her plans and she shared how she’s looking forward to climbing the African mountain and she is in need of help.
Nisha said, “I live in Chingrajpara in Bilaspur and my father Shyam Yadav drives an auto. I conquered Europe’s highest peak, Elbrus on July 13. Now I have to go to Africa but my dream is also to hoist the tricolor on Mount Everest one day. I am facing issues with payment for flight and visa for Africa that needs to be done in the first week of December.”
Chief minister Sai replied, “It will be done, we will provide full support, you start with your preparations. The Chhattisgarh government is with you.”
CM Sai’s X handle posted a video in pride and support of daughters of Chhattisgarh with a poetic phrase and quote, “When you have made up your mind to fly high, there’s no measurable height of the sky. Nisha Yadav, the mountaineer daughter of an auto driver father from Bilaspur, wants to hoist the tricolour on Mount Kilimanjaro in the African continent, but financial problems were coming in the way of fulfilling her dream. Today, after talking to Nisha over the phone, I assured her of sending her to the African continent with the help of our government. Now, the daughter will also conquer Mount Kilimanjaro and will add to the prestige of Mother Chhattisgarh in the entire world. Jai Chhattisgarh!”
Nisha spoke to CM for a few more minutes sharing the challenges she faced while climbing Mount Elbrus, the highest peak of the European continent. She said that mountain journeys fill her with excitement.
Nisha further told the Chief Minister in a choked voice that she was not able to sleep for last several days but her biggest problem has now been solved. She informed CM Sai that a payment of Rs 3.45 lakh has to be made to the African agency to process her participation in mountaineering.
Nisha has trekked 8522 feet on Naina Peak, the highest peak of Nainital in Uttarakhand, then climbing Kedarkantha trek on 12500 ft height, Chhattisgarh’s highest peak Gaurlata 2952 ft, Arunachal Pradesh mountain peak Gorichen 21286 ft, and Europe continent’s highest mountain Mount Elbrus 18510 ft.
