Comedian Chris Rock made his fourth appearance as host of “Saturday Night Live,” and took a swipe at Joe Biden saying his middle finger still works after his controversial pardon of Hunter Biden.
Addressing the audience with his characteristic wit, Chris Rock said, “A lot is going on in the news, my God, it’s so crazy out there.”
Commenting on the President’s demeanour, Rock stated, “I gotta hand it to Joe, he don’t move as fast as he used to, he don’t talk as fast as he used to,” whilst moving deliberately across the stage, New York Post reported.
‘Blue Bloods’ star Donnie Wahlberg pens touching tribute after series finale: “I keep closing my eyes and seeing your faces”
“But that middle finger still works,” he remarked with a smile, addressing the unexpected presidential pardon of Biden’s son. “Only an animal would not pardon your son. Every parent in the world would pardon their son, except the parents of the Menendez Brothers.”
The comedian avoided mentioning the infamous Oscars incident during his opening remarks.
This marked Rock’s first SNL hosting since the 2022 Oscars incident.
The 2022 Oscars ceremony became notorious when Will Smith slapped Rock following the latter’s “G.I. Jane” joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s appearance, creating an unforgettable moment in live television history.
Rock’s SNL tenure from 1990-1993 saw him performing alongside notable comedians including Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, and David Spade.
The four-time Emmy recipient served as an SNL cast member from 1990 – 1993.
The South Carolina-born performer subsequently established himself as a prominent stand-up comedian, creating acclaimed specials including “Bring The Pain,” “Never Scared,” and his latest, “Collective Outrage.”
Beyond comedy, Rock has directed several films, including “I Think I Love My Wife,” “Top Five,” and “Head of State.”
