Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a major bomb in relation to his retirement plans as the legendary strikers future with Portugal’s national team remains uncertain. Ronaldo at the age of 39, featured for Portugal in the recent edition of the UEFA Euro Tournament. 

Despite being the most capped player and the highest goal scorer, Ronaldo’s future with the national team is up for debate. Ronaldo however has revealed that he is not planning to retire just yet and wants to to focus on helping his team in the UEFA Nations League matches.

‘It Will Be A Spontaneous Decision’ 

While speaking to Portuguese TV channel Now, Ronaldo opened up about his retirement plans. 

“When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone beforehand and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought out one. Right now, what I want most is to help the national team in its upcoming matches. We have the Nations League coming up soon and I would really like to play there,” said Ronaldo. 

As for his retirement plans in club football, Ronaldo opened up about how he is happy at Al-Nassr and will probably retire at the Saudi club.

“I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire here at Al Nassr”. I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue,” said Cristiano Ronaldo. 

What After Football For Ronaldo? 

As Cristiano Ronaldo enters into his final years of playing football, there is a lot of speculation regarding what the 5-time Ballon D’Or winner will do once he leaves playing football for good. Several fans have been wanting to see Ronaldo in a managerial position post-retirement but Ronaldo but those rumors and wants to rest.

“In my mind, at the moment, it is not about being a first team coach, or a coach of any team. I don’t see my future being that way. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds,” said Ronaldo about possibly coaching a team. 

Cristiano Ronaldo has recently started a Youtube channel which has crossed 45 Million subscribers in the blink of an eye. This could be a hint that Ronaldo might go into media and social media after he retires from football.
