Delhi horror: Father commits suicide after killing 4 daughters in Vasant Kunj | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A man killed his four daughters and then died by suicide in southwest Delhi’s Rangpuri Pahari, in Vasant Kunj.
Police received a PCR call at 10.18 am on Friday about the incident. The caller informed us that his tenant was not opening the room. A team went to the spot.
Nitin Chauhan, the owner of the building, told police that his caretaker Mohan Singh informed him that during the cleaning of the third floor, a foul smell was observed coming from flat number C-4.
When they knocked, the tenants did not open the door. Further, the landlord himself knocked at the door, but to no avail. Finally, he made the PCR call.
The door was bolted from inside and it was opened with the help of the fire brigade team. There are two rooms in the flat. A man was found lying dead in the first room itself, whereas four women were found dead in the other room.
The deceased were identified as Heeralal Sharma (46) and his four daughters Neetu (26), Nikki (24), Neeru (23), and Nidhi (20).
An inquiry with neighbours and close relatives revealed that Heeralal’s wife had died of cancer about a year ago. Heeralal was employed as a carpenter at the Indian Spinal Injury Centre in Vasant Kunj for the past 28 years and earned Rs 25,000 per month.
However, he had not been attending to his duties there since January 2024. Furthermore, his daughters Neeru and the youngest daughter had disabilities.
Meanwhile, Mohan Sharma, Heeralal’s brother, and Gudiya Sharma, his sister-in-law, reached the spot. They stated that he stopped taking interest in family affairs after the death of his wife and was always occupied with the treatment of his daughters in one hospital or the other.
The daughters rarely left their room. The family was last seen on September 23 by the neighbours. There were no injury marks on the dead bodies; however, three packets of Celphos poison, and five glasses and a spoon containing suspicious liquid were found inside the house.
A medical board has been constituted for the postmortem of the bodies.
