Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024: India will tour to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this month. There is a lot of air around the Indian team, especially after their 3-0 series loss to New Zealand. This was India’s first-ever home Test series loss in 12 years, their last one coming against England in 2012. Questions are being asked of Gautam Gambhir , the head Coach and of Rohit Sharma , the skipper of the side.
Prior to the Indian Team’s departure, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir interacted with the media and shed light on the burning issues surrounding the players and their recent performances. Gambhir, who is known for being blunt took the questions heads on and had a straightforward reply to almost all the questions that were thrown at him. But it looks as if Gambhir’s press conference has rubbed former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar in the wrong way.
Manjrekar Openly Criticizes Gautam Gambhir
Former India cricketer and now a very successful broadcaster, Sanjay Manjrekar never shies away from speaking his heart out. Just like Gambhir, Manjrekar too is very well known for expressing things and opinions very bluntly. After Gambhir’s explosive press conference on the recently concluded IND vs NZ Test series and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Manjrekar has said that Gambhir doesn’t have the right demeanour to tackle the media.

Rohit Sharma and Co.’s dreams of playing the World Test Championship 2025 Finals have been heavily dented by their recent 3-0 series loss to New Zealand. India tour Australia with high hopes of not only defending the Border-Gavaskar title but also of bettering their chances of playing the WTC Finals. India will play five-Test matches in Australia and they can’t afford to lose even one of them.
