Chum Darang, who hails from Arunachal Pradesh gained recognition through her role in the Bollywood film Badhaai Do, where she played a pivotal character alongside actors Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar. She recently entered the Bigg Boss 18 house as a contestant. Before going inside the show, the Bigg Boss 18 contestant exclusively spoke to Times Of India TV about her participation in the show, doing household chores and more.Chum also made it clear that she won’t tolerate any form of disrespect inside the house. Additionally, she also discussed her approach to handling trolls and more as she steps into the spotlight of the reality show.
On doing Bigg Boss 18
One of the reasons I wanted to participate was because this was an opportunity to show people my beautiful home state Arunachal Pradesh. Because I’m very sure once I enter people will be curious to know about me like who’s this girl and where is she from? That will help people understand more about me and my state.
It scared me when I learned that I couldn’t bring things like watches, journals, or books inside BB 18
I am anxious about sharing my space with strangers since it means losing my privacy. Everything will be out there for everyone to see, and that’s going to be a challenge. When I got the confirmation, I was informed about the items I could and couldn’t bring, and I was really taken aback. It scared me when I learned that I couldn’t bring things like watches, journals, or books.
Going to miss my family
I’m going to miss my family and friends the most in the Bigg Boss house. I’m not going to miss any materialistic things. Just the important people in my life I’m going to miss them. And maybe to a certain extent my phone.
On doing household chores
I have a very strict mother. She made sure that I learnt everything from a very tender age so that I was not scared or worried about it. But to do it for a lot of people can be a challenging task. It is a bit scary to clean and cook for 20 people. It will be a bit of a task and it can create a few problems for me.
I can’t please everyone, so my focus will be on my own happiness
Yes, the idea that I’ll be watched and judged around the clock does concern me, but not excessively because we all have our flaws. In movies, we play characters, but this time I’ll be showing my true self. That thought is a bit frightening, but I believe I can handle it. I’m not a complicated person, and I think this mindset will help me in the Bigg Boss house. I’m slightly worried about the many different opinions, as that can be tricky. Now that I’ve committed to the show, I’m prepared for the judgment that comes with it. I understand that regardless of whether I do good or bad, people will always have something to say. I can’t please everyone, so my focus will be on my own happiness. I’ll work on that and strive to be the best version of myself.
I won’t tolerate disrespect in the house
I won’t tolerate disrespect at all of any kind. This is something that I’m very sure of. Disrespect of any form I can’t accept. This is one thing that can trigger me. Because I’m not someone who will disrespect someone so if it happens to me, then the other person will get something from me. Something bad definitely that person will get from me.
