‘Faulty Covid vaccines … ‘: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren hints at conspiracy behind deaths of 12 constable aspirants | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Thursday hinted at a conspiracy behind the deaths of 12 aspirants during physical tests for excise constable recruitment drive in the state as he claimed “faulty” Covid vaccines were administered to people in the state.
“The Covid vaccines administered to people in Jharkhand were faulty. Its impact is being observed in the youths who died,” Soren claimed.”A conspiracy is suspected behind the deaths of the youths. I have ordered a probe into it,” the Jharkhand chief minister added.
Soren had earlier announced the formation of a committee to review the reasons for the deaths.
“After all, what are the reasons behind relatively healthy/fit people of our village-society getting injured in the physical test which is being conducted since long? After all, what changes have taken place in the health of the general public in the last 3-4 years in the country including Jharkhand? To review the reasons for the untimely death of these youth, so that such accidents do not happen in future, we have constituted a committee of health experts and have also directed them to give a consultation report” the Jharkhand chief minister had said.
A total of 12 aspirants have so far died during physical tests for Jharkhand excise constable competitive examinations that were underway in seven centres in Ranchi, Giridih, Hazaribag, Palamu, East Singhbhum and Sahebganj districts.
The Jharkhand BJP has claimed that the JMM-led government’s “mismanagement” had resulted in the candidates’ deaths and has demanded an inquiry.
“Many candidates have lost their lives during the physical tests of the police recruitment drive. In our country, never before have so many people died during a recruitment process. BJP condemns this incident. The state government is responsible for these deaths. We will file an application in the National Human Rights Commission demanding an enquiry into the incident. Compensation of at least Rs 50 lakh should be given to the families of the bereaved,” said Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is a co-incharge of the BJP in the state.
The postmortem reports of aspirants who died are not out. However, additional director general of police (Headquarters) RK Mallick has claimed that according to preliminary medical assessments, most deaths were attributed to heart attacks.
Meanwhile, the physical tests, which were halted after the deaths, will resume on September 10 with revised norms.
