Footage shows how Israel carried out raids on 'dozens' of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon

The Israeli military Sunday announced that it carried out strikes on “dozens” of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, days after a similar strike left the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah dead.
According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), “dozens of terrorist targets” in Lebanon were hit, including buildings used for storing weapons and military infrastructure linked to Hezbollah.
The IDF also released footage showing it continuing to strike Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, including “launchers that were aimed toward Israeli territory, structures in which weapons were stored and additional Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure.”
“The IDF continues to attack terrorist targets of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanese territory. Fighter jets of the Air Force, under the direction of the Northern Command, have attacked dozens of terrorist targets in recent hours,” it said.

The IDF confirmed that strikes were carried out on several areas in southern Lebanon. “Over the past day, the IDF struck hundreds of Hezbollah terror targets throughout Lebanon,” the statement said, adding that the military continues to “operate to damage and degrade Hezbollah’s capabilities.”
Reports indicated that Israeli warplanes targeted a civil defence center and launched a series of airstrikes on the city of Hermel and its surroundings in the Baalbek region.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has vowed to keep fighting until the border with Lebanon is secured. “Israel has every right to remove this threat and return our citizens to their homes safe,” he said in his fiery speech in the United Nations earlier this week.
The escalation between Israel and Hezbollah has dramatically intensified since September 17, when Israel executed an operation that detonated 3,000 pagers used by Hezbollah operatives through a coded message. Subsequently, another attack targeted Hezbollah during funerals for the victims of the earlier strike, where walkie-talkie devices exploded.

On September 20, Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon escalated further, leading to the deaths of two senior Hezbollah commanders, Ibrahim Aqil and Mohammed Wahbi.
On September 22, Netanyahu announced a significant escalation in the war against Hezbollah, warning the militia of a “string of strikes that it didn’t imagine”. The following day, Israel launched around 1,300 “extensive, precise strikes” against Hezbollah targets.
In recent days, the Lebanese capital has faced several Israeli airstrikes, including one that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. According to the Lebanese health ministry, more than 700 people have been killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon since the bombardment of Hezbollah strongholds began earlier this month.
This week’s death toll marks the deadliest period of violence in Lebanon since the civil war in 1975. The UN refugee chief, Filippo Grandi said that “well over 200,000 people are displaced inside Lebanon,” with more than 50,000 fleeing to neighboring Syria.
