India head coach Gautam Gambhir slammed the media on the eve of the second game against New Zealand for questioning KL Rahul ‘s spot in the side and also confirmed Rishabh Pant ‘s availability for Pune Test. Gambhir confirmed that Pant would be keeping wickets at Pune.

“Social media doesn’t decide playing X1,It is not important what social media or experts think, it is important what team management thinks. He had a decent knock in a tough Kanpur pitch. He would want to score big runs. This team management is looking to back him.”
When asked about Shubman Gill, Gambhir said that he is fit but the playing XI is yet to be decided.
