KOLKATA: Former RG Kar principal Sandip Ghosh was wilfully absent from the crime scene instead of closely monitoring the process, CBI said in its submission to the court on Wednesday.
CBI officers have reasons to believe that Ghosh reached the hospital after police and the OC of homicide (detective department) arrived at the scene of crime. By then, he had spoken to Tala OC Abhijit Mandal multiple times.He had also spoken to a number of hospital officials. From the analysis of his call details, investigators suspect that he was talking to someone else and taking orders.
The agency has already alleged that the crime scene was tampered with. During interrogation, they questioned Ghosh multiple times to know the steps he had taken after he came to know about the incident. Ghosh told investigators that he spoke to a number of officials and formed a three-member board of doctors. The details were forwarded to the health department and a meeting of the board of doctors was convened at 5 pm.
