NEW DELHI: Ahead of the auction at the Abadi Al Johar Arena, GT had spent Rs 51 crore from the total purse of Rs 120 crore on retaining five players: Rashid Khan (Rs 18 crore), Shubman Gill (Rs 16.50 crore), Sai Sudharsan (Rs 8.50 crore), Rahul Tewatia (Rs 4 crore), Shahrukh Khan (Rs 4 crore). In the IPL 2025 Auction, Gujarat Titans, who won the title in 2022, signed star pacers Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj and England star batter Jos Buttler.
Gujarat Titans also secured the services of Washington Sundar for Rs 3.20 crore. The Titans initiated the bidding, with Lucknow Super Giants also showing interest. However, Gujarat ultimately made the winning bid for the India allrounder, who had entered the auction with a base price of INR 2 crore.
Washington was previously part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in the last IPL season, adding depth to their allrounder options.
