Hardik Pandya Smashes Virat Kohli’s Record On The Last Ball Of The IND vs BAN T20I

It was an eventful day at the office for India’s Cricket team as they began their T20 series against Bangladesh . India managed to whitewash Bangladesh 2-0 in the test series played between the two countries. India defeated Bangladesh in spectacular fashion to win the first T20I. Bangladesh had set a target of 128 which India managed to chase in just 11.5 overs. Several Indian players turned out to be key performers such as Arshdeep Singh who toppled the Bangladesh batting order with his 3/14 in 3.5 overs. 

Another show was put on by Hardik Pandya who impressed with both bat and ball. During the process, Hardik Pandya broke a record held by Virat Kohli on the very last ball of the match.  

Hardik Pandya Smashes Virat Kohli ‘s Record 

During the first T20 against Bangladesh , Hardik Pandya played a destructive knock of 39 off just 16 balls. He had a strike rate of 243.75. Hardik Pandya got the big finish for India as he smashed a six to secure the win when India needed one run to win. 

As Hardik Pandya smashed the six, he broke a record held by star Indian batter Virat Kohli . Virat Kohli had held the record for most times to finish a match with a six. Virat Kohli had achieved the feat 4 times. Pandya with his powerful shot overtook Virat Kohli to become the player with the most number of times to finish a match with a six.

Hardik Pandya has now finished a match five times with a six.  

Pandya Also Overtook Arshdeep In Wickets 

Apart from the bat, Hardik Pandya also achieved a massive milestone with the ball. He became India’s 4th highest wicket taker in T20Is. With his lone wicket in the match he reached a tally of 87 wickets, overtaking Arshdeep Singh who has 86 wickets in the format.

India’s highest wicket taker in T20I remains Yuzvendra Chahal with 96 wickets.
