With an outstanding record of 5 Ballon d’Or awards to his credit, Cristiano Ronaldo generally rules the debate on the best players of all time. Renowned as the world’s best top goal scorer, Ronaldo’s extraordinary abilities and successes confirm his status as a footballing superstar for decades. However, one of the toughest periods of his career came when he left Manchester United, ending his second stint at Old Trafford, after an alleged altercation with the coach Erik Ten Hag, which led CR7 to publicly criticize the coach before leaving the club on a mutual consent back in November 2022. Given the fact, Cristiano Ronaldo without United is still at the top of his game, scoring weekly with Al-Nassr. On the other hand, Erik Ten Hag was sacked recently after his poor showing at Manchester United which continues to struggle in the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United for a possible 3rd stint?
According to Louis Saha, a former attacker for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo may return to Old Trafford. This conjecture tracks the arrival of former Portugal teammate Ruben Amorim as the club’s next permanent manager after Erik ten Hag’s sacking.
Ten Hag’s time at Manchester United came to an end in controversy, particularly when Ronaldo left the team abruptly in November 2022. The two had a number of public disputes; one of the most prominent episodes was Ronaldo’s absence on a substitution call-through. When Ronaldo attacked Ten Hag and the team in a well-publicized interview with British TV personality Piers Morgan, tensions raised even further.
Since Ronaldo agreed to end his contract, this split finally resulted in his leaving of Manchester United. Later in December 2022, he relocated to Saudi Arabia and joined Al-Nassr.
Ten Hag is now gone, but Saha thinks Ronaldo may be back at Manchester United. Speaking with Betfred, the former Red Devils forward offered his opinions on the matter, saying that the management change would open the path for the return of the great striker. As quoted by Sportskeeda, Saha said:
At the moment, Cristiano Ronaldo is focused on his play in the Saudi Pro League, where he has made only nine appearances this season scored six goals and has also contributed two assists. During the November international break, Ruben Amorim took over as Manchester United’s head coach, and he is excited to lead the team to even greater glory.
