Watch: High-end vehicle catches fire in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: A high-end car caught fire at Adyar on Saturday. DCP (crime and traffic) Dinesh Kumar BP said that the car was a 2011-12 model. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported and the driver of the car, Gurudeep from BC Road, is safe.

Police said that the incident took place when he was travelling from BC Road to Mangaluru on the national highway.He had exited the vehicle after parking it by the roadside, and moments later, the car caught fire, resulting in complete damage. A short circuit is suspected. Mangaluru Rural police have registered a case.
Short circuit suspected
It may be recalled that a similar incident was reported in the first week of Sept. A high-end car caught fire near NITK. Police suspected a short circuit as the cause of the incident. The driver and a passenger noticed sparks near Mukka before the vehicle burst into flames. No casualties were reported.
