NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Ravi Shastri has been honoured with an honorary fellowship by Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The recognition acknowledges Shastri’s remarkable contributions to the sport of cricket over a career spanning more than four decades.
The award ceremony took place at the iconic Sophia Gardens ground, home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club, where Shastri spent four seasons as a player in the late 1980s.
During his time with Glamorgan, he played a pivotal role in the team’s successful run to the semi-finals of the prestigious Benson & Hedges Cup in 1988.
Expressing his gratitude, Shastri took to social media platform X, stating, “Honoured to receive The Honorary Fellowship from the Cardiff Metropolitan University today.”
